On one hand, they seem desperate to get people trained and certified, but on the other - they’re gate keeping their official certs and training programs to big consulting firms. I thought for sure that by now, we’d be able to test for the CCA as civilians, but it’s still locked to partners.

I’m not really big on certs and typically find them pretty useless as an indicator of someone’s ability to apply their knowledge in a practical setting. But I do find them useful for having a specific goal to drive more structured learning and for understanding where I have gaps in my skills and knowledge.

I also find that instructor led (especially in person) training helps me commit better. When I go at my own pace, I typically just end up building instead of reading and watching videos.
